Porter is delighted to have raised £10,027.61 for our charity of the year, Cancer Research UK.
The partners and staff of Portner chose Cancer Research UK as our charity of the year last March.
Earlier this month, we sent the charity the money raised during the year: £10,027.61. We received a certificate of thanks (below) from Cancer Research UK and the following message from Alice Simkins, Relationship Executive, London and South East:
“I am writing to thank you for all you have done for us as your Charity of the Year – your efforts really are appreciated.
“Thank you for helping us beat cancer. By raising £10,027.61 for our life-saving research, you are making a significant contribution to bringing forward the day when all cancers are cured.
“In the 1970s, fewer than 1 in 4 people with cancer survived; but thanks to people, like you, we’ve helped double cancer survival over the last 40 years and today, 2 in 4 people survive the disease. Our ambition is to accelerate progress so that 3 in 4 people survive cancer by 2034 and we couldn’t do that without your support.
“Once again, thank you for making our partnership so successful this year, and I hope that we will unite against cancer again in the future.”
While the partners and staff at Portner will choose a different charity for the current year, they will continue to look for ways to support Cancer Research UK and the amazing work they undertake.
